Adopt-A-Block ... the heartbeat of the DCLE!

 

In order to begin meeting immediate needs of the community, the Dream Center adopts blocks. 

 

Through Adopt-A-Block, physical needs of individuals and families will be met on a consistent basis leading to valuable relationships and a brighter future for our community. 

 

Our consistent sites are:

Main Street: We love our beautiful downtown and keep it looking beautiful by picking up trash and encouraging & praying for our local businesses. 

Spring Street: Two apartment complexes where we have created intentional community and visit with our friends... talking about life and God, with occasional meals & projects together.

City Park: We change the atmosphere by infusing the park with games, bubbles, and hula hoops as well as by loving on our friends without homes!

Senior Village: A community of over 80 apartments for 55+ where we visit our friends every week to have good conversations and help with tasks such as taking out trash and cleaning... not to mention the bingo days and parties every so often! 

Heald Apartments: An apartment complex where we build relationships with the individuals & children who live there through meals, play days, and construction/clean-up projects.

 

Adopt-A-Block happens every Saturday at the Dream Center Headquarters (114 East Peck Street, Lake Elsinore, CA 92530)

9:15am-10am: Prayer

10am-10:30am: Rally & Lite Breakfast

10:30am-Noon: Serving in the Community 

 

What to Expect:

Adopt-A-Block is wonderful for volunteers of EVERY age! 

​

Please come in clothes you don't mind getting dirty (or covered in paint!) and close-toed shoes. Work gloves are helpful but not necessary.

 

We also recommend bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat as it can get hot out there!

If you are interested in bringing a large group* from your church or community, please let us know!

*Groups under 10 have no need to check in beforehand... just show up ready to serve!
